Correction Policy

At The Huddle Nation, accuracy and journalistic integrity are our top priorities. We are dedicated to providing the most reliable, thoroughly researched, and factual NFL coverage available. However, we recognize that journalism is a fast-paced environment and, occasionally, human errors occur.

When we make a mistake, our policy is simple: we admit it, we correct it promptly, and we are completely transparent about the change. We believe that letting known mistakes linger erodes the trust we have built with our readers.

Our Standards for Corrections

  1. Prompt Action: We correct errors as quickly as possible once they are verified. There is no statute of limitations on our content; whether an error is found the same day or a year after publication, we will correct the record.

  2. Transparency: We do not silently change facts or rewrite history. When a significant factual error is corrected, a clear “Correction” notice will be added to the article (typically at the bottom of the page, or at the top for major breaking news errors).

  3. Clarity: The correction note will clearly explain what the error was and provide the accurate information. (For example: “Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the draft pick was in the second round. It was a third-round pick.”)

Types of Updates

  • Corrections: Used when we have published factually incorrect information (e.g., wrong statistics, incorrect scorelines, misquotes, or misidentifying a player).

  • Clarifications: Used when the facts in the story are accurate, but the phrasing may be misleading, confusing, or lacks necessary context. We will update the text and add a note explaining the clarification.

  • Editor’s Notes: Used for major issues regarding the fundamental premise of an article, ethical breaches, or when an article requires an overarching explanation regarding how a story was reported.

  • Updates: Live news stories (such as trades or injury reports) are often updated as new information becomes available. We will clearly timestamp these articles as “Updated” rather than issuing a formal correction for information that was simply unknown at the time of initial publishing.

  • Minor Fixes: Typographical errors, minor grammatical mistakes, or broken links that do not change the meaning or factual accuracy of the story are corrected directly in the text without a formal public note.

Social Media & Multimedia

If we publish incorrect information on our social media channels or in push notifications, we will issue a correction on that same platform to ensure the audience that saw the error also sees the correction. If a multimedia asset (such as an infographic or video) contains a factual error, it will be pulled, corrected, and re-published with an accompanying note.

How to Report an Error

We value the keen eyes of our passionate football community. If you spot an error, a broken link, or a questionable statistic in any of our articles, we want to hear from you.

Please report any suspected editorial errors to our team by emailing: contact@thehuddlenation.com

When submitting an error report, please include:

  • The phrase “Correction Request” in the subject line.

  • A link (URL) to the article in question.

  • A brief description of the error and, if possible, the correct information or a link to a reliable source.

All reports are reviewed directly by our editorial team, led by our Editor-in-Chief, Richard V. Johnson. We will investigate the claim and take appropriate action immediately.

Thank you for helping us hold The Huddle Nation to the highest standards of sports journalism.
