Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen has put the early-offseason noise to bed. Trade rumors and cut-candidate talk swirled around the 26-year-old before free agency, yet he remains in Pittsburgh and used this week’s organized team activities to deliver a direct message.

Queen enters the final season of the three-year deal he signed as a free agent ahead of 2024. He made it clear the speculation never rattled him.

Queen Addresses the Speculation Head-On

“I saw the whole charade that went on all this offseason, but I mean it’s talks. Obviously, no movement either way,” Queen said via Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “So, at the end of the day, [the Steelers] have business to handle. I’ve got business handled at home, and my business is to go out there and play the best football I can and put myself in a good position and put our team in a good position so that we both get successful.”

He called out the social-media machine that amplified half-truths. “Some of it was true, but some of it was extended truth, just people rambling and stuff,” Queen added. “That’s what you can have with social media nowadays. You know, everybody wants the first say whatever happens — and wants to hope to be right. [There were] very [few] facts out there.”

Extension talks have stayed quiet. “There has been nothing crazy” in conversations between his representatives and the front office, Queen confirmed. With a strong salary already locked in for 2026, he sees no reason to force anything.
